Serve as a central communication source for all components of the patient transfer and consultation process, including direct ED/Inpatient admissions and Critical Care Transport. Responsible for the facilitation of communication with specialty providers, medical control, transport team and patient placement. Acts as a resource to community and hospital based providers. Demonstrates effective communication skills, critical thinking skills, ability to multi-task, and ability to follow clinical practice guidelines. $2,500 Sign-on Bonus* Full time or Part time Available hours: 24 hrs, 30 hrs or 36 hrs per week Nights - 12 hr shifts Shift differential and Night premium available Weekend rotation - every 3rd weekend Onsite - Milwaukee main campus Office setting Experience: 3 years of experience as an RN required OR 3 years of Transport experience as an RCP required Pediatric experience preferred Previous critical care, emergency room, or transport experience preferred Epic ASAP and Epic Rover experience preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to work independently, utilize time management, prioritization and multi-tasking skills needed in a fast paced department.
  • Knowledge of a variety of pediatric healthcare specialties, including level of care, symptom identification critical thinking and decision making to appropriately triage and manage consult and transport requests. Basic knowledge of a computer including but not limited to: Microsoft Office, web browsing, document access and electronic health record.

Education

Associates Degree of Nursing required Bachelors Degree Science of Nursing degree preferred OR Associates Degree of Respiratory Care required Licensure/Certifications: RN-Registered Nurse or License Respiratory Care Practitioner BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/National Safety Council required PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/National Safety Council within 180 Days required * $2,500 sign-on bonus available for External candidates only Childrens Wisconsin is an equal opportunity / affirmative action employer
