Registered Nurse NICU Float Pool

Job Description

​ The NICU Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized, evidence-based nursing care to neonatal patients across multiple Neonatal Intensive Care Units within the Saint Lukes BJC health system. This role supports staffing needs by floating to three designated NICU locations and caring for patients ranging from stable growing infants to critically ill neonates requiring advanced respiratory and intensive care interventions. The NICU Float Pool RN demonstrates clinical excellence, adaptability, strong critical-thinking skills, and the ability to rapidly integrate into diverse care teams while maintaining high standards of patient safety, family-centered care, and professional practice. Float Pool Responsibilities Provides competent nursing care across assigned three NICU locations and campuses. (Saint Lukes Plaza, Saint Lukes North-Barry Rd, Saint Lukes East- Lees Summit) Adapts quickly to varying workflows, equipment, and unit cultures. Maintains flexibility regarding unit assignments based on patient census and staffing needs. Serves as a resource and supports team collaboration across multiple NICU environments.
