City of Hope’s growing national system includes its Los Angeles campus, a network of clinical care locations across Southern California, a new cancer center in Orange County, California, and cancer treatment centers and outpatient facilities in the Atlanta, Chicago and Phoenix areas
The successful candidate: Must be able to work 20-24 flexible hours per week The clinic hours are 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday
Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents the care of ambulatory patients Directs the care delivered by Medical Assistants and other members of the healthcare team
Demonstrates high aptitude and ability to function independently while performing patient care in accordance with provider orders Care provided conforms to accepted practice standards (ONS and Intravenous Nursing Society)
Provides treatments/procedures and other care as prescribed and according to patient care standards and plan of care Acts as an advocate and coordinator of patient care with other health care personnel and evaluates patient care measures instituted
Consultant to the healthcare profession, patient or caregiver regarding patient advocacy and delivery of safe, competent, and quality nursing care Administer medications, chemotherapy, IV fluids and blood products safely and per policy Conducts and reinforces patient education, including treatment plan/regimen, financial implications of care, symptom management, side effects, patient family responsibilities related to self-care, available resources at home or at facility
Follows policy regarding equipment maintenance and infection control measures Assists in the onboarding of new stakeholders with a positive and inclusive attitude reflective of the COH values
This position is scheduled for 36 hours per week, working Monday through Friday Daily hours are flexible within the standard workweek Qualifications Your qualifications should include: 2 years experience in Outpatient, chemo infusion preferred Graduate of NLNAC or CCNE School of Nursing Registered Nurse, Illinois American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Proof of chemotherapy infusion certification and/or training with in 6 months of hire City of Hope is an equal opportunity employer
