Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Servicing International)

About the Role

You'll own quarterly goals for your team, lead engineers through ambiguous problems, and ensure continuous support throughout delivery. Partner with product, design, and analytics teams during ideation and decision-making, balancing technical constraints against business risk and trade-offs. Proactively surface and resolve project, process, technology, and business issues across your organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver team quarterly objectives, guiding engineers through open-ended problem-solving
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics teams on ideation and technical decision-making
• Identify and advocate for solutions to project, process, technology, and business issues
• Monitor team systems and metrics; escalate operational issues and support on-call efforts
• Establish and improve code review and design standards across your team and organization
• Develop team members through feedback, mentorship, and leadership by example

Requirements

• 4+ years of software engineering experience
• Proven experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using Python, Kotlin, or similar languages
• Hands-on experience with AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes
• Exposure to building web applications with declarative UI frameworks (React, Vue, or equivalent)
• Understanding of core frontend framework principles and architecture
