Staff Product Manager, Affirm Bank

Affirm is building its own bank, and this Staff Product Manager role sits at the center of that mission. You'll own the end-to-end bank product — from launching deposits to consumers, operationalizing a new bank charter, driving loan originations, and ensuring seamless integration across Affirm's platform. This is a foundational opportunity to build a new business line from the ground up that will reshape how Affirm funds and serves its consumers.

About the Role

You'll serve as the single-threaded product owner for deposits, loan originations, banking compliance, and operations. You'll work at the intersection of regulated banking, platform engineering, and consumer products to launch and scale Affirm's bank. This role demands deep cross-functional leadership across a complex ecosystem of internal teams, external vendors, and regulatory stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end bank product roadmap, from early launch to multi-billion-dollar scale, with strategic decisions on how deposits integrate with credit products and the broader consumer experience
• Partner with Engineering, Marketing, Branding, Content, and Design to shape the consumer deposit experience and go-to-market strategy, including positioning, launch sequencing, and consumer-facing messaging
• Drive bank operations readiness in collaboration with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and the Bank's executive team — regulatory readiness, process maturity, vendor selection and integration (deposit core, fraud, KYC)
• Align internal teams and external vendors on the vision for launch and operationalization
• Communicate strategy and tradeoffs to senior leadership and the Bank Board, building alignment across Engineering, Legal, Compliance, Treasury, and Capital Markets

Requirements

• 6+ years of product management experience, with demonstrated ability to operate as a strategic, independent leader on complex, ambiguous initiatives
• Experience growing or launching a regulated consumer-facing product in the financial services industry with go-to-market experience
• Proven program leadership at scale — you've owned high-visibility cross-functional launches across many stakeholders with direct exposure to leadership
• Strong technical fluency and comfort working with engineers on system design, data models, and API architecture
