Affirm is seeking a Senior Manager, Accounting Policy & Reporting to lead the end-to-end execution of external financial reporting and SEC compliance. This remote role serves as a primary technical accounting resource, responsible for preparing and filing SEC reports, researching complex accounting matters under U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations, and translating policy into accurate financial disclosures.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical research on new and complex U.S. GAAP (FASB) accounting standards and ensure timely adoption with documented position statements
  • Analyze and interpret accounting and regulatory reporting requirements for domestic and international subsidiaries
  • Draft and finalize technical accounting memos supporting complex transaction analysis and policy conclusions
  • Serve as primary technical resource for non-routine transactions including M&A, debt/equity offerings, and SEC reporting implications
  • Advise business units and functional teams on accounting impacts of new corporate policies and strategic initiatives
  • Design and implement scalable accounting and reporting processes related to policy application
  • Manage full lifecycle of accounting policies within designated scope areas, ensuring documentation is clear, current, and consistently applied
  • Identify and resolve accounting policy gaps stemming from business changes and evolving U.S. GAAP, SEC, and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Execute timely and accurate preparation and filing of all SEC reports
  • Ensure all external disclosures remain fully compliant with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations

Requirements

  • Experience in technical accounting policy research and U.S. GAAP standards interpretation
  • Experience with SEC reporting and external financial statement preparation
  • Knowledge of accounting policy development and governance frameworks
  • Experience advising on complex transactions (M&A, debt/equity offerings)
  • Proficiency with accounting systems and financial reporting software
