Staff Software Engineer (Continuous Integration)

We're looking for a Staff Software Engineer to lead our Continuous Integration team and drive the design, implementation, and optimization of build systems, testing infrastructure, and deployment pipelines that enable engineers across the company to ship reliable software quickly.

About the Role

As Staff Engineer on the CI team, you'll own the architecture and reliability of our continuous integration systems that support automated testing, build orchestration, and deployment across multiple services and platforms. You'll work at the intersection of infrastructure, developer productivity, and platform engineering—ensuring that build pipelines are fast, reliable, and a source of confidence for our engineering organization.

Responsibilities

• Systems & Operations: Design, scale, and maintain build and CI pipelines across multiple services and platforms; optimize build times, test coverage, and feedback cycles; implement monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes to minimize CI system downtime.
• Collaboration & Enablement: Partner with engineering teams to ensure smooth integrations and deployment workflows; identify developer pain points and lead initiatives to improve productivity through tooling, automation, and best practices; promote CI/CD discipline and standards across the organization.
• Leadership & Strategy: Contribute to the vision for continuous integration and developer productivity infrastructure; mentor and lead other CI engineers; align CI systems with broader product and platform goals in partnership with engineering leadership.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading or driving engineering efforts in CI, build systems, or developer productivity.
• Strong background with modern build systems (GitHub, Buildkite, Artifactory, or equivalent).
• Expertise managing build systems and frameworks for large monorepos.
• Familiarity with cloud-native environments (AWS, Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Solid programming background in Python, Kotlin, Java, or similar languages; ability to guide technical decision-making.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to balance long-term vision with short-term impact.
• Open source contributions or previous experience at scale in a leading tech company is a plus.
