Job Description

About the Role

Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without hidden fees or compounding interest. As a Senior Technical Account Manager, you'll drive the technical success of our largest merchants post-sale, serving as the primary technical advisor to their developers, product teams, and business stakeholders throughout the customer lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical relationships for a named set of merchants within a vertical or category, building trust with technical counterparts and fostering long-term partnerships
  • Manage and provide technical guidance for new merchant integrations, identifying problematic technical approaches and driving adoption of new features and products through pilots and betas
  • Support clients throughout their tenure as Affirm partners, resolving critical technical issues and coordinating multi-departmental efforts to address complex problems
  • Deliver early feedback to engineering and product teams during product iteration cycles
  • Identify operational efficiency improvements and streamline merchant onboarding processes

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Technical Account Manager, Solutions Engineer, or similar customer-facing technical role with ownership of key developer relationships
  • Ability to read and understand code in at least two programming languages
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated fluency discussing technical concepts with developers
  • Validated track record leading important client relationships
  • Strong project management capabilities with ability to influence internal and external partners
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent) or bootcamp graduation
  • Familiarity with the payments ecosystem
