About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Senior Compliance Manager to lead our UK financial crimes and AML compliance function. In this role, you'll serve as the Senior Manager Function Holder (SMF17) Money Laundering Reporting Officer for the UK entity and provide second-line oversight of our financial crime compliance program. You'll develop and maintain robust AML and financial crime frameworks aligned with FCA expectations, while managing suspicious activity governance, control frameworks, and compliance risk assessment across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Act as the designated Money Laundering Reporting Officer (SMF17) for the UK entity, subject to organizational and regulatory approvals.
- Provide second-line oversight of the UK financial crimes compliance program, covering AML, sanctions, suspicious activity governance, and related control frameworks.
- Manage suspicious activity escalation, internal referral, and reporting governance for the UK entity, including review and escalation of matters requiring MLRO judgment.
- Design, maintain, and improve the UK AML and financial crimes framework to align with applicable FCA and UK regulatory expectations.
- Lead development of the firm's Financial Crime Compliance Monitoring Programme (CMP), ensuring alignment with risk appetite, regulatory landscape, and market conditions.
- Execute the UK entity's Business Wide Risk Assessment (BWRA) and control inventory by identifying financial crimes risks, control gaps, regulatory developments, and governance priorities.
- Partner with UK Compliance and global Financial Crimes leaders to maintain effective UK control environments across onboarding, transaction monitoring, investigations, and screening processes.
- Oversee UK financial crimes issue management, including identification, remediation tracking, escalation, and closure governance.
- Prepare the firm's annual MLRO report for senior management and the Board, detailing control effectiveness of AML systems, Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), fraud activity, training provision, risk exposure, and regulatory position.
- Support internal audit, external audit, regulatory examinations, and bank partner reviews relevant to UK financial crimes compliance, including preparation of materials, response coordination, and remediation tracking.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of FCA regulations and other UK servicing regulations.
- Proven track record developing and implementing effective compliance programs.
