About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Batch Infrastructure team, you'll take ownership of quarterly goals, lead engineers through complex technical problems, and ensure team members are supported throughout delivery. You'll collaborate across product, design, and analytics to balance technical constraints with business requirements and drive decisions that account for risk and trade-offs. You'll also drive operational excellence, mentor engineers, and establish engineering standards that raise quality across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for your team while providing technical leadership through ambiguous, open-ended problems
• Partner with product management, design, and analytics teams during ideation and technical planning phases
• Identify and advocate for project, process, technology, and business issues; lead solutions to critical problems
• Establish operational metrics and monitoring for team systems; participate in on-call rotations and maintain high availability
• Set and improve code review and design standards; advocate for engineering quality across teams through documentation and technical talks
• Develop talent on your team through feedback, guidance, and mentorship

Requirements

• 4+ years designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using Python or Kotlin
• Proven experience building highly available distributed systems with AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes
• Experience building or managing workflow orchestration frameworks such as Airflow, Flyte, Prefect, Temporal, or Luigi
• Working knowledge of scaling frameworks like Spark or Flink for large-scale data processing on Kubernetes
• Track record defining and executing technical plans for significant features or system components with elegant, extensible designs
• Ability to make large-scale changes in complex codebases while maintaining code clarity and usability
