Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly. As a Senior Salesforce Engineer on the Business Systems team within Revenue, you'll architect and deliver technical solutions that enable Affirm's go-to-market organization to scale—collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to design systems that are both sophisticated and maintainable.
About the Role
You'll be a core member of the Business Systems team supporting Affirm's Revenue organization, which drives top-line growth through strategic partnerships, pricing, and go-to-market execution across eCommerce, in-store, telesales, and the Affirm app. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with mentorship: you'll define technical direction for Salesforce systems, evaluate and recommend adoption of emerging capabilities, and guide other engineers through complex design decisions. You're expected to communicate clearly across technical and non-technical audiences, work nimbly in a fast-moving environment, and actively raise the bar for those around you.
Responsibilities
- Define and review technical designs for custom development, integrations, and data migrations, ensuring adherence to best practices for security, performance, and long-term maintainability
- Serve as a technical thought leader by continuously evaluating new Salesforce capabilities—including Salesforce Flow, Agentforce, and Einstein AI—and proactively recommending adoption paths that deliver measurable business value
- Design, build, and govern integrations between Salesforce and adjacent systems using Workato; drive complex multi-quarter initiatives end-to-end, owning solution architecture, scoping, risk assessment, and communication on timelines and tradeoffs
- Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders across Engineering, Sales, Legal, and Operations to gather requirements, co-design solutions, and communicate clearly throughout the delivery lifecycle
- Mentor and actively develop other Salesforce engineers on the team through architecture guidance, design review, pairing, and documentation that supports their long-term career growth
- Set strategic direction for the optimization and evolution of Salesforce, Ironclad, and adjacent Revenue systems, ensuring solutions scale with business needs and materially improve merchant and revenue organization experiences
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Salesforce Engineer or equivalent, with deep expertise in custom development, integrations, and Salesforce platform architecture
- Demonstrated proficiency with integration tools and platforms (Workato experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of Salesforce best practices, security, performance optimization, and long-term system maintainability
- Ability to evaluate emerging Salesforce capabilities and translate business needs into technical solutions
- Experience mentoring and developing other engineers
- Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences; ability to work effectively in cross-functional environments
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and driving complex initiatives to completion
