Senior Software Engineer, Mobile (Repayment UX)

Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, offering consumers flexibility to buy now and pay later without hidden fees or compounding interest. The Repayment UX Engineering team is expanding and seeking a Senior Software Engineer with React Native expertise to lead mobile development for payment user experiences. You'll own quarterly goals, mentor engineers, and directly impact the financial lives of 20+ million users managing over $40B in annual loan repayments.

About the Role

This is a senior individual contributor and team leadership position on a full-stack mobile engineering team based in Europe (same time zone) with Silicon Valley roots. You'll ship code to production every two-week sprint, measure impact on user behavior through rigorous analytics, and work on problems that matter at scale. Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for your team; lead engineers through ambiguity on open-ended problems and ensure team support throughout delivery
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics on ideation, articulate technical constraints, and partner on decisions that balance risks and trade-offs
• Proactively identify and advocate for project, process, technology, or business issues; lead solutions
• Support team operations and artifact availability by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating issues, and participating in on-call efforts
• Foster quality and ownership culture by setting or improving code review and design standards; advocate for standards through writing and tech talks
• Develop talent on your team through feedback, guidance, and modeling best practices

Requirements

• 4+ years developing and architecting mobile applications, preferably with declarative UI frameworks like React Native
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript or a strong track record learning similar languages and new technologies
• Experience defining technical plans for delivery of significant features or systems
