The Repayment Scheduling backend engineering team builds and operates the system that automates payments at scale—processing up to $40B annually while directly improving the financial lives of over 20 million users.

About the Role

You'll join a Europe-based backend team shipping code to production every two-week sprint, owning the configuration and orchestration of payment systems that deliver real impact. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on development, rewarding ownership, curiosity, and a builder's mindset. You'll set your own path to hitting clear quarterly objectives while learning from experienced teammates on problems that matter at scale.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for your team, leading engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems
• Support peers and stakeholders across product development by collaborating with product management, design, and analytics—articulating technical constraints and advocating for decisions that balance risks and trade-offs
• Proactively identify and lead solutions for project, process, technology, or business issues
• Ensure operational reliability and availability by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating issues, and participating in on-call rotations
• Set and improve code review and design standards for your team, advocating for quality beyond your immediate scope
• Develop talent on your team through feedback, guidance, and leading by example

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using Python, Kotlin, or similar languages
• Demonstrated track record of technical leadership and mentoring
• Availability for on-call rotation
