Job Description

Affirm is seeking a Licensing Manager to join its Legal, Compliance, and Public Affairs team, supporting the company's operations and expansion across regulated markets globally. Based remotely in Canada, you will manage licensing portfolios, regulatory relationships, and licensing strategy across the U.S. and international markets, reporting to the Director of Global Licensing and Regulatory Programs. This role combines legal expertise, compliance oversight, and policy work to enable Affirm's growth while maintaining trust with regulators and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Support new product and service launches related to state licensing and reporting, including money transmission, servicing/collections, lending, and international expansion
  • Work cross-functionally with legal, public affairs, compliance, finance, and tax teams to meet regulatory licensing and reporting obligations
  • Maintain central repository for licensing and reporting obligations, including workflows and regulatory guidance for new license types
  • Interpret, prepare, and submit state licensing annual reports, MSB call reports, and other regulatory filings
  • Monitor timely regulatory filings, identify licensing issues, and oversee ongoing obligations in licensing management tool
  • Lead preparation of renewal applications and regulatory forms for filing across various licensing jurisdictions
  • Collaborate on NMLS licensing, reporting, and related regulatory filings
  • Research and develop new processes, leveraging AI tools, to improve efficiency within the licensing program
  • Research and support build-out of licensing requirements into the licensing management tool
  • Coordinate with senior leadership to fulfill ongoing state licensing requirements
  • Partner with team on licensing projects and strategic initiatives

Requirements

  • 5 years of hands-on licensing, compliance, or regulatory experience, ideally in consumer financial services
  • Strong time management and administrative capabilities
