Software Engineer I, Fullstack (Servicing International)

Affirm is reinventing credit through transparent, flexible buy-now-pay-later financing. The Servicing International team is building the foundational platform to launch Affirm's products into new international markets, with a focus on purchase protection (disputes and refunds) and agent tooling. As a Software Engineer I, you'll contribute to both the backend systems and frontend experiences that serve our global customer base, working closely with engineers across Europe and our broader Servicing Engineering organization.

About the Role

You'll join a team at the forefront of Affirm's expansion into new regions, working on critical parts of the customer journey. Your contributions will span fullstack development—from backend API design to frontend implementation—supporting two key areas: purchase protection systems and agent support tooling. You'll be part of a collaborative engineering culture that values reliability, performance, and scalability across all systems.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to team projects and goals with support from your engineering team
• Work collaboratively with teammates and stakeholders to build visibility around your work, flagging risks and trade-offs
• Balance speed and quality in your development, meeting business goals while maintaining system reliability
• Participate in on-call rotation to support production systems
• Engage in team growth and development activities to build community

Requirements

• Previous work or internship experience shipping web applications using declarative UI frameworks (React, Vue, or similar)
• Previous work or internship designing, developing, and launching APIs at scale using languages such as Python or Kotlin
• Demonstrated ability to decompose complex problems into solutions that span multiple software components, executing with clear, testable, and maintainable code
• Comfort with the ambiguity and pace of building products in new markets
