Software Engineer I, Fullstack (Servicing International)

About the Role

Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without hidden fees or compounding interest. Join the Servicing International team at the forefront of Affirm's global expansion, building foundational platform capabilities to launch products into new international markets. You'll focus on two critical areas: purchase protection (including disputes and refunds) and agent tooling to support customer service teams across our newest markets.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to team projects and goals with guidance from your manager and senior engineers
• Collaborate proactively with cross-functional stakeholders, communicating risks and trade-offs related to your work
• Balance speed and quality in development, ensuring business goals are met while maintaining system reliability and preventing downtime
• Participate in on-call rotation to support production systems
• Engage in team growth and development activities to build community and strengthen engineering practices

Requirements

• Previous work or internship experience shipping web applications using declarative UI frameworks such as React or Vue
• Previous work or internship designing, developing, and launching APIs at scale using languages like Python or Kotlin
• Ability to translate business problems into solutions that span multiple software components, with demonstrated skill writing clear, testable, and maintainable code
• Comfortable working in a distributed team environment across multiple time zones
