Job Description

Affirm is seeking a Manager of Software Engineering for the Repayment UX team, a full-stack engineering group based in Poland serving over 20 million users who collectively repay more than $40 billion annually. This is a remote role reporting to lead a distributed European team responsible for the Manage tab across mobile and web applications—the interface where customers track and execute loan repayments. You will own the team's technical direction, roadmap delivery, on-call operations, and growth while partnering across Product, Design, Analytics, and peer Engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of full-stack engineers, setting clear performance expectations and supporting career progression.
  • Own the team's technical strategy and multi-quarter roadmap, aligned with business objectives and customer trust initiatives.
  • Support hands-on technical design, quality standards, and cross-functional alignment in collaboration with your tech lead.
  • Oversee availability, reliability, and performance of production systems, including on-call rotation, incident response, and operational efficiency.
  • Establish a delivery cadence of small, incremental ship cycles with clear ownership and defined milestones.
  • Partner with Product, Design, Analytics, and other Engineering teams on cross-functional programs and initiatives.
  • Guide the team toward increased productivity through focus, leverage, and emerging tools including agentic AI.
  • Drive hiring, onboarding, and team diversity while cultivating a culture centered on ownership, quality, and transparency.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of direct experience managing and growing engineering teams.
  • Proven track record shipping consumer-facing software and driving executive-level business outcomes.
  • Hands-on technical depth in full-stack development or platform engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability to scale team output and navigate complex cross-functional dependencies.
