Job Description

Affirm is seeking a Lead for Technical Account Management to oversee a team of Technical Account Managers supporting small-to-medium-sized merchants. This remote US position will direct TAMs responsible for the technical success of SMB merchants post-sale, guiding them through integration, expansion, and optimization across Affirm's product suite. You will work cross-functionally with Client Success, Product Management, Operations, and Merchant Care teams.

Responsibilities

  • Coach, mentor, and develop a team of Technical Account Managers supporting SMB merchants
  • Establish and track team OKRs and goals, creating proactive action plans to meet targets
  • Forecast TAM demand and lead recruitment efforts
  • Evaluate new hires on technical capabilities and handle escalations from your team
  • Provide technical guidance to TAMs on integration solutions, troubleshooting, and optimization opportunities
  • Serve as a technical expert and trusted advisor to customers
  • Advocate internally for merchant priorities and ensure cross-functional alignment on key business objectives
  • Work with Client Success to enable merchants to grow, reduce time-to-market, and maximize adoption of Affirm's product offerings

Requirements

  • At least five years in B2B customer-facing technical roles
  • At least three years as a people manager
  • Strong technical background in web development technologies and REST APIs
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional engineering experience
  • Experience with e-commerce or retail merchant solutions (preferred)
