Software Engineer II, Fullstack (International)

Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, enabling consumers to buy now and pay later without hidden fees or compounding interest. The International Accelerator Engineering team is expanding and seeks a Software Engineer II to join our Europe-based, full-stack team building Direct-to-Consumer products for Canada, the UK, and future international markets. You'll ship production code serving millions of users while measuring real impact on their financial lives.

About the Role

You'll work in an agile, fast-paced environment where you own full-stack development across web and backend systems. Operating as part of a European time zone team with Silicon Valley culture, you'll take on meaningful problems at scale—breaking down larger initiatives into actionable tasks, shipping across multiple phases, and collaborating with cross-functional partners to deliver impact.

Responsibilities

• Break down and deliver larger projects into individual tasks across multiple phases, with support from your tech lead and manager
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics during ideation, articulate technical constraints, and partner on decisions that weigh risks and trade-offs
• Build and maintain Direct-to-Consumer products including the Affirm App and related platforms for international markets
• Support operations and availability of your team's systems by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating issues, and participating in on-call efforts
• Contribute to team culture through participation in hiring, growth, and development activities

Requirements

• 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer
• Proven experience shipping web applications using declarative UI frameworks such as React or Vue
• Experience designing, developing, and launching APIs at scale using languages like Python or Kotlin
• Ability to translate business scenarios into scalable technical solutions
• Strong collaboration and communication skills across product and engineering teams
