Affirm is seeking a Vice President, People Business Partner & Employee Relations to lead its global people business partner and employee relations functions. This executive role sits on the People Leadership Team and serves as a strategic advisor to the Chief People Officer and Executive Leadership Team on enterprise-wide organizational and talent decisions.

The VP, People Business Partners & Employee Relations shapes Affirm's operating model for people strategy and execution at an enterprise scale. You'll anticipate business needs, evolve capabilities, and position the organization to perform at its best. As a strategic partner to executive leadership, you'll bring an organization-wide perspective to critical people decisions and workforce strategy.
Responsibilities
- Define strategy, structure, and operating model for global people business partner and employee relations functions, challenging existing approaches and redesigning roles, capabilities, and workflows
- Build and develop high-performing teams through talent decisions, coaching, capability building, and selective hiring; establish clear performance standards and accountability measures
- Develop trusted partnerships with Executive Leadership Team members, serving as strategic advisor on talent, functional leadership, and organizational decisions
- Build deep understanding of Affirm's business strategy and operating model to proactively identify organizational and workforce implications
- Partner with executive leadership on workforce strategy, including talent size, composition, capabilities, and deployment; evaluate how technology, AI, and new operating models can enhance efficiency and scale
- Drive employee relations strategy, supporting managers in complex personnel matters and maintaining a thoughtful, equitable approach to employee issues
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with talent acquisition, learning and development, compensation, and benefits teams to ensure cohesive people operations
Requirements
- Demonstrated executive experience leading people operations, human resources, or organizational strategy at a strategic level
- Proven ability to build and scale high-performing teams and operate effectively at the executive leadership level
- Strong business acumen with the ability to translate workforce strategy into organizational competitive advantage
- Experience designing people operating models and evolving capabilities to meet business growth
- Excellent judgment in complex employee relations and organizational matters
- Ability to influence without direct authority and build credibility across diverse stakeholder groups
