About the Role

As a Staff Software Engineer, Full Stack, you will own critical systems and architecture decisions that impact Modern Health's platform at scale. This is a leadership-level engineering position where you will drive technical strategy, mentor engineering teams, and deliver solutions across our entire stack while ensuring security, performance, and reliability standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure full-stack solutions that support millions of users across the platform
• Lead architectural decisions and technical strategy for critical systems and infrastructure
• Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and operations teams to deliver features and improvements
• Establish and maintain best practices for code quality, security, testing, and deployment
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and technical debt across the stack
• Contribute to on-call rotation and incident response for production systems

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with significant full-stack development
• Demonstrated expertise in both backend and frontend technologies
• Strong background in system design, scalability, and cloud infrastructure
• Experience with security best practices and building secure systems at scale
• Proven ability to lead technically, mentor engineers, and drive architectural decisions
• Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments
• Comfortable working fully remote and across distributed teams
