Senior Director of Information Risk & Governance

Modern Health, a mental health benefits platform serving employers globally, is seeking a Senior Director of Information Risk & Governance to lead enterprise risk management and compliance strategy. This remote, US-based leadership position will oversee the governance, risk management, and compliance functions across the organization as it scales.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute enterprise information risk and governance strategy aligned with business objectives
• Oversee compliance programs, regulatory requirements, and third-party assessments
• Lead risk identification, assessment, and mitigation across the organization
• Manage governance frameworks, policies, and controls related to information security and data protection
• Partner with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to embed risk awareness throughout the company
• Report on risk posture and governance metrics to the board and leadership team

Requirements

• Extensive experience in information risk management, GRC (governance, risk, and compliance), or related leadership roles
• Deep knowledge of healthcare compliance, data privacy regulations (HIPAA, GDPR), and industry standards
• Proven ability to build and lead governance and risk teams
• Strong understanding of enterprise security and compliance frameworks
• Experience communicating risk to executive and board-level audiences
• Strategic mindset with ability to balance risk management with business growth in a fast-paced environment
